The aircraft tipped overnight so the museum got caught out while all in bed! It's been fine for 27 years, so it was just the huge quantity of snow in a short time that did it. There is the old Health and Safety/liability problem, and I'm not sure anyone can do anything around the museum unless they are a member, so the museum insurance will cover them.

keith opened the museum on the saturday morning and found the vulcan, he called john stelling and paul hughes, paul and his missus went down as did john, his wife and suzzane, paul called sam and john who are part of team vulcan that is doing the preservation and restoration work on the vulcan so know her well, as the sleepers had to be stacked and would take a few people john rang me (as a trustee of the military vehicle museum) and asked if i could get a couple of bodies there quick, i asked how many and he said just a couple more would do, i called joe as he lives 5 minutes from the museum and i rang ian as i knew he could get there quick. thats all there was too it, just get a few bodies there quick to get the nose stablised and help with the lifting of the sleepers. others were called before us but like steve they were unable to get there for a while due to prior comitments
